Gratitude and Thankfulness to God – Prayer
Author: Małgorzata Perła
As a child, I asked You, God, for everything, for everything possible, so that I could fully enjoy my existence here on Earth, and You gave me a priceless and great gift — the Gift of Life — so that I could fully rejoice in everything.
I asked You, God, for strength, so that I could endure life’s problems and hardships, and You gave me weaknesses. Today I understand — I received weaknesses so that I would draw closer to You and trust You, so that I would become obedient to Your Will.
I asked You, Creator, for health, so that I could create and bring many beautiful things into life for my own good and the good of others, and You gave me not health, but illness, so that I could do better things in my life for myself and for others.
Today I know that illness also helped me find my path back to You, establish contact with You, and renew and strengthen our bond.
I asked You, God, for wealth, so that I could be fully happy and live joyfully and carefree.
I received not wealth, but poverty from You. Today I understand why You gave it to me already in childhood.
I received it so that I might become wiser and strengthened by Your support.
I am grateful to You and thank You for this gift and for all Your life lessons.
Thank You, God, for my childhood and youth in poverty, because it gave me life wisdom and taught me precious values that I now use in my adult life.
It was the most valuable and precious lesson I received from God — one that shaped my life until this very day.
As a young girl, I asked You, God, for power, status, and money because I thought that people who have power and money are admired, respected, loved by others, and have the whole world at their feet.
Yet You sent weakness and helplessness upon me.
Today I understand why You gave them to me — so that I would feel and realize how deeply I need You, Your support, my connection with You, Your Divine Love, and Your protection.
Creator, I did not receive from You many of the things I asked for, but You gave me everything I truly needed.
Thank You, God, that I did not receive everything I asked for. Today I understand that You withheld those things because they were not for my highest good nor the highest good of others.
Thank You, Creator, for the gifts I never even imagined or dreamed I could receive directly from God, gifts I never believed I was worthy of.
You, God, showed me my true value — that I am precious and valuable to You, that I am Your beloved child whom You care for every day and every night.
You know what is for my highest good and what I truly need.
Today I know and understand how I should pray, what I should ask for, and how to speak with You.
I understand which words I should use in my prayers and conversations so they may reach You and be heard.
Through You I discovered the value, power, energy, and function of words that I use in life — those spoken and unspoken, expressed consciously and unconsciously, influenced by many emotions.
God, because of You I learned how important the words are that come from my mouth.
You taught me that words are like bricks from which I build my life and the world around me each day.
The same is true of my thoughts.
You showed me the connections and consequences created by all the words I have spoken and those that existed only within my mind.
I understood and realized that words can build or destroy not only my own life but also the lives of others.
Today I also know that words hold immense power and energy, and that I must carefully choose them and even consider how I combine them.
I am aware that every word I speak can be a drop of water in a desert, or a projectile capable of hurting, destroying, or killing.
You taught me, God, responsibility for every word and thought, which today I use with great care.
I am grateful to You and thank You, Creator, for teaching me responsibility for my words, actions, and thoughts.
Thank You, God, for these precious lessons.
With all my heart, together with my Soul, we thank You, God, for hearing my prayers — those directed to You through thoughts and through my heart, even without speaking a single word aloud.
Today I know that I can communicate with You in many ways I once knew nothing about.
Thank You, Creator, for all these life lessons and experiences, especially the painful ones, because they helped me find my way back to You and allowed this beautiful bond between us to be reborn.
Thank You for all my suffering and tears that helped cleanse and open my heart to You, God, and to Your Divine action. I have had enough of them already.
You taught me gratitude and joy for what I have. I abandoned chasing and pursuing what is fashionable and what others possess because I understood that it is not truly necessary for me, not truly right for me, and does not bring happiness — that it is an illusion.
Thank You for Your lessons and Your guidance.
I am blessed because I have God — the greatest teacher one could ever wish for or dream of.
Creator, shape and refine me according to Your Will for my highest good and for the good of others.
