Knowing Divine Matters – Prayer
I accept that the greatest and most profound good is coming to know divine matters, and becoming worthy of such knowledge and of understanding it.
I accept that it is not enough to call oneself perfect, or another being perfect, even if in our eyes they may deserve such recognition.
For it is right that recognition and definition be joined with our own and others’ best and righteous actions.
I understand and accept that just as the root is to the tree, the eye to the body, the framework to the whole fabric, so for us and every being, it is the knowledge of truth as known by God.
I understand and accept that it is not enough to know what should be believed about God, but that we must also live according to His laws.
I understand and accept that lovers of devotion should learn not merely for knowledge itself, but for its righteous application in action, according to the will of God.
I understand and accept that, in harmony with the nature of my Soul, I easily absorb the laws of God as God understands them; by observing them soberly and consciously, I shape beautiful future events and the best present reality for all.
I willingly and easily cultivate my own creative thinking in divine light.
I allow God Himself to imprint upon me the seals of Divine Laws and the guidance concerning the fulfillment of the Soul’s responsibilities, so that I may become a living, noble, and rational being of divine light.
According to my abilities and available understanding, I imitate God, desiring what is noble and beautiful, what is pleasing to God.
I give thanks that I am allowed to recognize the disposition of God the Lawgiver, who shows the possibility of following Him and teaches us not only that one may imitate Him, but also shows the way of such imitation.
I understand and accept that God compelled no one to create heaven, earth, sun, moon, and other things, but instructed us to love what God Himself loved — namely ourselves and all other beings.
