Dakini. Intentions

Dakini (Sanskrit: ḍākinī; Tibetan: མཁའ་འགྲོ་མ་, Wylie: mKha’-’gro-ma, ZWPY: kanzhoima, pronounced: khandroma, literally „sky messenger”) – in Tibetan Buddhism, a being personifying the feminine aspects of enlightenment. In Tantra, she personifies feminine sexual energy, regarded as the archetype of creation.

In Tantric Buddhism, dakinis represent the inspiring impulse of consciousness that helps the practitioner attain enlightenment. Dakinis are depicted in peaceful, semi-wrathful, and wrathful forms. Their male counterparts (or partners) are called daka (Sanskrit), vira (Sanskrit), palo (Tibetan), or heruka.

Classification

There are many different kinds of dakinis. Tibetan Buddhism distinguishes, for example, Wisdom Dakinis, their emanations known as Activity Dakinis, Worldly Dakinis, Flesh-Eating Dakinis, Messenger Dakinis, and others. The term dakini is also used for all female Buddhas (such as Vajrayogini and Tara), women practitioners who have attained enlightenment, and, in colloquial Tibetan, the wives of lamas.

Our own, in every gender and from all causes, effects, reasons, and circumstances, being all kinds of beings, entities, and creations within the pantheon of gods of every level and gender in Buddhism, as well as in other religions and philosophies of the North, South, East, West, and beyond; our striving for such, and not only such, experiences; our avoiding and evading them; and our experiencing the consequences thereof

Our own, in every gender and from all causes, effects, reasons, and circumstances, being beings, entities, and creations of every kind, level, and gender that are worshipped, become the object of prayers, petitions, rituals, offerings, and not only these; our also being offered in sacrifice by other beings, entities, souls, or people; our striving for such, and not only such, experiences; our avoiding and evading them; and our experiencing the consequences thereof
