Wedding Rings for Jesus – A Prayer of Release

God, please open my heart and soul to understanding. I have surrendered to You, God, all my admiration for every wedding ring worn by other nuns, priests, and monks.

I have surrendered to You, God, our belief that the wedding ring of religious sisters […] is something wonderful—it speaks for itself! I have surrendered to You, God, our states of admiration for the inscription engraved on the ring: „Jesus is mine and my everything,” „My Beloved is mine, and I am His,” because, after all, nothing is considered more important than remaining with Jesus alone. I forgive myself for reflecting on a nun’s wedding ring bearing the inscription: „Yes, Lord, You know that I love You.” I have surrendered to You, God, our admiration for and acceptance of the belief that, together with thousands of other women, I share a similar story regarding „being espoused to Jesus,” that I have spoken my „YES” to Jesus, and that the wedding ring is its symbol. I have surrendered to You, God, the custom of kissing the wedding ring every morning and evening as a sign of my love for Jesus, as well as kissing it after longer conversations with Him.

I have surrendered to You, God, our admiration for and acceptance of the idea that I desire to gaze upon Jesus, upon His holy Body, until the end of my days, because my heart has fallen in love with Him, hidden in the white Host.

I have surrendered to You, God, all our wedding rings that serve as proof of being married to the only Son of God. I have surrendered to You, God, my acceptance of the belief that, in Poland, besides me, Jesus has nearly 300 other lay wives and many thousands of other religious sisters who have been espoused to Him and remain faithful to Him.
