Checkerboards as a Symbol in Buildings and in Human Energies – A Conversation.
[2016-01-12 09:31:10] Beata: Yesterday I watched a film on TVP1 about Freemasonry. A strange thing, because I felt a slight, somehow familiar excitement when I looked at some of the symbols that appeared there, for example those “good” pentacles pointing upward. Or my age-old fondness for the checkerboard motif, constantly recurring in the film’s visual narrative, for example on the floors of temples built by them.
Sławomir Majda: Perhaps your Soul had a male incarnation and was a Polish pilot. They had checkerboards on their aircraft as a symbol. I have never paid any attention to checkerboards. Perhaps it is a symbol of a fragmented mind—or symbolism of a disturbance, for example, in time sequences. I found an article, “Checkerboards, St. John and Cosmology.” Link
A checkerboard may be an example of fragmenting the mind so that it becomes impossible to find the way to God or determine what reality actually is.
Beata: The checkerboard is quite common. It appears, for example, on the floors of old Christian churches. But it is also one of the symbols of melancholics under the sign of Saturn. In my case it is probably rather the latter.. You can read about it, for example, in books about melancholy, such as the essays of Marek Bieńczyk, a Polish writer and Nike Prize winner. There is a thick book translated from German: “Saturn and Melancholy. Studies in the History, Philosophy, Nature, Medicine, Religion and Art.”
The article you cited is fascinating. Now many things are becoming clear to me. I will write more later.
Gosia 1: The photographs from that article are unpleasant for me. The symbol reminds me of castles I have visited. Malbork is the closest to me and I found a photograph there showing this checkerboard on the floor of the castle chapel. Link, The circle shown here probably means something too. In the castle in Lidzbark Warmiński Link Link, I am sure I have also encountered this motif in various churches, for example on floors.
Gosia 2: This motif is standard in buildings like these. It is everywhere, there are countless examples….The question is why?
Gosia: I am surprised, I never thought it could mean anything.
Gosia 2: Just like little towers, the roofs of churches and various buildings often have a kind of hat shape… so there must be some meaning here too. As usual, it is probably about some kind of blockage against God, that is what I think.
Zosia: Everything means something, the form, the shape… Life proceeds in such a way that people almost trip over things with their noses and notice nothing except a beautiful historic building… And all of this comes from outer space…
Gosia 2: It probably introduces some kind of confusion. I once painted such a checkerboard on a blouse with fabric paint. I liked it, but I do not know why. The checkerboard motif, for example, is worn by skinheads as a symbol. Clowns have it, harlequins in the circus.
In Formula 1 they have checkerboard flags.
Dorota: Checkerboards are usually black and white, as though the colour itself were speaking) these are opposites—dualism, but also, moving across the squares as certain areas, one can, for example, remain only in the white and, wanting to leave, enter another one.. Then again return to the previous one. This interweaving may suggest that a person is going around in circles anyway.
Agata: Once I saw above me something like a dome, an umbrella, in a checkerboard pattern, black and white and fairly large. It happened after a rather aggressive energetic attack which, as I thought at the time, I had defended myself against. I checked what it might have been because I thought it was some kind of protection, and it turned out to be an energiser. I saw something similar once again, but then “it” had black twos written inside the white squares. So there was a connection with magic. Since at that time I had already undergone a Reiki initiation, I can now infer what level that checkerboard came from and what level it was “protecting” me from.
Zosia: During my Reiki initiation, I saw beings in front of me that were patting down a channel from the bottom upward. I also saw a being that said to me—welcome to the path of spiritual development.
Agata: Yes…. I was welcomed by a being that stepped out from a circle of similar beings, with such beauty and brightness that, well, a pure angel… I was impressed, I remember it to this day. But I also remember greyness and such a dense grey fog. It depended on which initiation it was.
Zosia: At that time it was the first one, a channel, a tunnel of white light… White Astral Realm.
Agata: Yes. The woman who initiated me had a white aura and nobody knew at the time what that meant…. I had several of those initiations and various impressions. Except that there was no repeat of meeting luminous beings.
Zosia: With me too, during the subsequent ones, there was no longer any applause or welcome…
Agata: Well yes, because it was no longer needed. I also had Kundalini Reiki initiations, and that took place in the presence of a whole crowd of witnesses, I saw them. Realising my own stupidity made a blush of shame creep across me… But I did not know what I was getting into.
Zosia: Nobody knows, it is called spiritual development, so people enter without checking, because what is there to check… The Great Masters—they bought the initiations, so they sell them onward. It works like a financial pyramid scheme.
Agata Pająk: I realised something else too, it is all coming together now. Once, during meditation, and I actually managed to enter a deep state, probably by a miracle, a female figure appeared before my eyes dressed in beautiful white robes, with a little hat on her head, black hair, she was beautiful. It knocked me out of the meditation, and it took me some time to figure out that I had been barred from entering such a state. That woman left during one of the Kundalini initiations. Now I also know why… she was probably guarding that too, including making it impossible to enter such a state.
Zosia: Maybe she was an age-old destructive professional guard.
Dorota: There are probably guards somewhere in checkerboards, or they direct people toward astral nets, or toward various deities—“lords”—or somewhere else toward “masters,” and eventually nobody knows where all of this goes.
Marek: As for the checkerboard, for several years now, during visits from Souls/beings to me, there have been some that, in order not to identify themselves, cover themselves with something resembling a checkerboard. This was a subject I raised about 1.5 years ago during a conversation with Sławek. I felt then like an exhibit in a ZOO.
Beata: It looks as though My Soul attracted this fascination with black and white squares from previous incarnations. As it turns out after reading the article sent yesterday, this fascination corresponded with my tendencies in this life toward tarot, white magic, respect for the eternally renewing cycle of nature, but also the circularity of human nature (life—death—life), the “pagan” calendar with its eight major festivals, etc. Generally speaking, also with the witch pattern which the Soul still manifests. Everything is slowly beginning to fit together into one whole for me. From your descriptions, which moved me, of clairvoyant insights concerning the checkerboard, it follows that this is another astral burden which it would be appropriate to get rid of as quickly as possible. But what should I do, for example, with the checkerboard made of tiles on the floor of my own bathroom, which until now I was so proud of?
Sławomir Majda: Surrender the subject to God. “Having, building for oneself and others, among other things, checkerboards on floors, in temples, in the aura, on clothing
Gosia: And fascination with it, greed for using it for various purposes—for protection, as a shield, among other things against others and against God.
Zosia: Objects in the shape of a heart used to appear to me. Now again… I found a heart-shaped clasp, my husband burned a large heart-shaped hole in a sweater, I peeled an orange and the peel is in the shape of a heart, etc…. Maybe I should surrender all these hearts to God?
Sławomir Z: Recently an orange rectangle appeared in front of me, so I released it by playing the song “Triangles and Squares.” One more thing about the floor. In the bathroom I laid a combination of black and white tiles—small black squares and white ones. And in another one I have white honeycombs on the floor. And what does that mean? That my wife has good taste. Our house was made in a certain style. Apparently our Souls had some cool incarnations in those times. It may also be that one thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Sometimes you simply like something, that is all.
Marek: And why should it have anything to do with it? Some souls hide their feelings behind checkerboards.
Gosia: And I am wondering—do those souls treat checkerboards as protection? Why this particular thing?
Sławomir Z: As for black, I would apply moderation in everything. Every one of you has black tyres on your car and somehow you still drive around…
Gosia 2: I have an enormous aversion to black—it repels me… imagine being locked in some room with people dressed entirely in black…. Now I would feel trapped, I even feel short of breath just thinking about it.
Dorota: Sometimes we have influence over, for example, our choice of clothing, but sometimes we do not, for example tyres on a car, but we do have a choice over the colour of the car—so let us choose! And we have knowledge too. Not everyone needs to drive a black hearse.
Gosia 2: Besides, black absorbs other colours—the rainbow colours, so I prefer that it does not absorb mine. If I have a choice, I choose. If there is no choice, then I suppose one can ask for protection.
Blackness kind of sucks in colours in order to exist, because by itself it does not exist, as though it is not a colour, but arises through the superimposition of many colours—that is what physics says. Besides, by taking black into ourselves, we somehow energetically give it permission, for example, for cancer, fractures, suffering, etc.
Piotrek: In the subject of magic/astrology, the symbol of the “magic square” appears, which is in a sense a checkerboard. It served as a talisman. I even recently saw in a souvenir shop that you could buy pendants like this; on one side there was such a magic square and on the other a pentagram Link.
