Dixit Dominus – Psalm 110 (Modernized Version)

Latin musical version of the original, arranged by Handel. Link
I encourage you to read the text below in such a way that you hear your own voice while simultaneously playing the musical recording.

Psalm “Dixit Dominus Domino Meo” – Modernized Version

Please, God, open my heart now.

“Trust Me,” said God in His gracious voice.
My soul rose up from its fall.
I looked high upward, into the flowing light of the world.
Looking downward and to the sides, I perceive only pure light.
Within me, behind my back, and in what has already passed away, brightness remains.
I am grateful that my soul and I have been given the opportunity to co-create with You, O God.

“Trust Me,” said God in His gracious voice.

O Light, I have entrusted to You all my enemies and all the enemies of my soul.
I have already given to God all my intentions, habits, and needs to enslave other beings.
I have already given to God all my intentions, habits, and needs to exalt myself above my enemies, above the enemies of my soul.
I do not need to have a heavy hand toward enemies, nor to possess enemies, nor to hold hostility in my heart.
I have already given to the Light all needs, intentions, and desires to rule over other people, other souls.
I have already given to the Light all needs, intentions, and desires to bend the necks of other beings—tyrants, despots, and ordinary people.

“Trust Me,” said God in His gracious voice.

I therefore exercise my rights and the rights of my soul to be a happy, free being of divine light.
I accept the karma of my soul, all its talents and experiences lived in the East, West, South, and North.
I am free from the intention of having enemies and of creating them for myself.
I have already given to the Light all my intentions, habits, and needs to be the ruler of beings hostile to me, and the ruler of those favorable to me.
I have already given to God all my intentions, habits, and needs to wear decorative garments; I am always adorned by the light of a radiant soul and by the pure love of the heart.
I have chosen sober and conscious life experiences, free from the need to fight tyrants and despots, free from creating enemies for myself.

“I am already weary of their presence in my life,” I said to God.

“Trust Me,” said God in His gracious voice.

I accept life experiences free from poverty, destitution, and suffering, “for I am exhausted by them.”
“Trust Me,” said God in His gracious voice.

God, please turn Your attention to the tyrants and despots who destroy their fellow human beings; show them all the power of Your glory, love, and grace.

“Trust Me,” said God in His gracious voice.
“Trust Me”…

Masterful, Earlier Rendering of Psalm 110 by Jan Kochanowski

The Lord said to my lord in His gracious voice:
“Sit at My right side,
Until your enemies, stripped of their armor,
I make as a footstool beneath your feet.
From great Zion I shall extend
The power of your kingdom to the ends of the world,
And you shall exercise your rights on every side,
Commanding in the midst of your enemies.
At the time of your rising, your people shall stand willingly by you, my lord:
A people radiant in virtue, splendid in piety,
Like dew in the rose’s glow—the blood of your youth.”

The Lord has sworn, and He will not go back on His word:
“You are a priest forever,
According to the order of Melchizedek.”
The Lord at your side,
Forever the Lord will crush tyrants in His wrath.
He will extend His judgment, the fields He will cover with corpses,
He will strike down mighty rulers;
He will drink from the torrent flowing with blood—
Therefore He shall lift His head high to the heavens.
