Father Pio – Intentions for Prayer Related to His Person and Ministry

The friar performed miracles and was a fervent Catholic. It may be said that he directly followed the example of various ancient martyrs. It is worthwhile to free oneself from his entanglements and from his ideas about tormenting oneself.

Technical notes regarding the concept and the construction of intention statements

The word (non-) added to a given word while working with intentions means that it is worthwhile to also state its opposite, or even independently find and speak aloud any synonyms that come to mind together with their opposites.

For example, instead of simply saying:

–being poor, sick

it is beneficial to also include the opposite:

–being poor, sick; –not being poor, sick

This allows the given pattern to be addressed as broadly as possible from different perspectives, including through its opposite. It is also worth remembering that souls often think or claim that they do not possess such opposing patterns—for example, that they are not idol worshippers in a given case (or concerning a given word).

Another example:

A woman’s soul denies ever having been a bad mother. Therefore, adding the negation—not being a bad mother—may help her understand the state she is in.

Being a bad mother; –not being a bad mother–

„Absolutely not! Never in my life! Those are not my patterns. What I do is my private matter.”
[A soul very often says or thinks this about itself.]
