Shamanism – Talking Over the Voice of God.

Each of us can, and even should, hear the understandable voice of God through the heart.

Shamanism, trances themselves and other related techniques serve to drown out the voice of God calling from within to manifest Love through action. This drowning out is connected with blocking intuition. Sometimes it makes it impossible to establish easy contact with one’s own soul.

During rituals, the shaman performs:

a) Various actions intended to REMOVE himself from the state of conscious perception of the world; he also drowns out his own inner voice and opens himself to external voices and advice coming, for example, from spirits.

b) Such practices include singing or mumbling, sometimes a kind of chanting of nonsensical words, any arbitrary “blah, blah, blah.”

c) He is accompanied by trance-inducing sounds of bells, drums and rattles.

d) He hears the trance-inducing singing of other participants in the ritual.

e) An element of shamanic practice is taking drugs, including Peyote. In this way, he loses the ability to recognise inner insights and evaluate them soberly, consciously.

Daan van Kampenhout’s book entitled “Shamanic Rituals and Family Constellations (Hellinger)” defines all these limitations well. A number of techniques are described which make any contact with God impossible. God is always TALKED OVER by the shaman. There is no chance for mutual contact; moreover, the author of the book states unequivocally that this is not possible and that it is a waste of time to make such attempts. As a result of this reasoning, all that remains is for the shaman to open himself to receiving knowledge from the spirits of deceased people, from the souls of living people, and from the spirits of totem animals.
