“Vulturing” off others means, among other things, feeding off them. People mooch cigarettes from others on the street, someone else mooches a beer. The similarity between the intentions of vulture scavengers and those People and Souls who feed off their neighbours is enormous. The image beside the text depicts Avalokiteshvara, the one to whom Buddhists make the 48 Amitabha vows.

The word (–not) added to a particular word when working with intentions means that it is worth mentioning its opposite or even, during the work itself, independently finding and expressing any synonyms that come to mind together with their opposites.

For example—being poor, ill—it is also advisable to say it together with its opposite

—being poor, ill, —not being poor, ill

This makes it possible immediately to move a given pattern as broadly as possible in different aspects, including in its opposite. It is also worth knowing that Souls often think and claim that they do not have such opposite patterns, for example that they are not idolaters, as in a given case or with a given word.

Another example:

A woman’s Soul denies ever having been a bad mother. Therefore, adding the word of negation here—not being a bad mother—may enable her to understand the state in which she finds herself.
