“God, You Will No Longer Surprise Me”?
One day, sometime before 2010, I said: “God, You will no longer surprise me with anything.”
In my defense, I should add that this concerned some matter — now already forgotten — about which I believed I had gained all the available knowledge.
God’s answer came in the afternoon, on that very same day.
What I remember is the surprise itself, the sudden expansion of the horizon of my knowledge, and the realization that God can always surprise anyone in any matter and in any scope. Regardless of whether it concerns medicine, organic chemistry, or even garage experiments with plasma possessing no material mass.
Not long afterward, it “came out of me” once again:
“God, You will no longer surprise me with anything.”
The response was equally fast and equally positively surprising.
Since that event, I stopped making similar statements.
Now I allow myself to receive what God gives and to remain open to further information and gifts. I remember how, during work with Monika, we would arrange a plan for the week and the following month. Yet the changes were so dynamic that nothing really came of it because of continual surprises and the flood of ongoing matters.
The surprises that God gives me concern all dimensions of existence. They include family matters, health, finances, and more.
People who have never been surprised by God, nor by His gifts or guidance, may write down their reflections on this subject and express them aloud.
The response may be surprising, as it was in my case.

“One conclusion follows from this article: if someone wants to learn something quickly, it is worth saying such a thing.” A friend wrote this to me. I advise against such initiatives, because this mechanism may not work the same way for every person. It is better to say that someone is open to positive surprise.

I think that ideas similar to the one above could have the character of:
- Putting God to the test
- Playing games with God
- Testing divine patience
- Trying to obtain information through trickery
- Attempting to impose on God what He should do — “because if it was shown to someone else, then it should be shown to me as well”
